01

About

SPVRKD is the creative spark for real, sustainable change in the fashion industry, unlocking the full potential of product makers, creators, collaborators and global communities.

I worked on the discovery phase of SPVRKD 1.0 and on parallel development as a UI designer, as part of a large international team at EPAM Systems. The project is under NDA, so the details here are kept at a high level.

02

Responsibilities

What I did

  • Took a leading role in establishing a consistent visual language and design approach across products and platforms
  • Worked with stakeholders and cross-functional teams so the design system met the needs of the business, the users and the development team
  • Took part in workshops to build collaboration and alignment across teams
  • Supported the development team with wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity mockups that follow the design system guidelines

03

Challenges

Tight deadlines: I kept the work on schedule by prioritizing tasks, setting realistic timelines, breaking the work into manageable pieces and checking in with the team regularly, so everyone stayed on track.

Complex user flows: they need a deep understanding of users' needs and behaviors to become interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use. I relied on user research, personas and user journeys, then on user testing, prototyping and iteration, and worked closely with cross-functional teams so everyone understood the flows and had input into the design.

04

Stakeholder Engagement

Involving stakeholders in decisions is about more than gathering feedback: it builds relationships and trust. When stakeholders see that their concerns and ideas are heard, they take ownership of the project's goals and outcomes.

Stakeholders from different backgrounds also bring up risks, challenges and opportunities the project team might miss, which leads to more inclusive and effective solutions. It takes time, resources and coordination, and interests can conflict, but it leads to more sustainable outcomes that meet the needs of everyone involved.

05

Final UI

In fashion, the look and feel of an app matters as much as how it works. Users expect apps that are functional, visually appealing and fashionable, and also fast and reliable.

I worked closely with the developers from the first wireframes to the final polished UI, and kept up with the latest design trends, so the app is both beautiful and intuitive.
